The program aimed to improve Pakistan’s export competitiveness and trade performance. This aligned with the government’s Strategic Trade Policy Framework (STPF), which envisioned a dynamic and efficient domestic market and a globally competitive, export-driven economy. The expected outcome of the program was improved competitiveness and increased exports. ADB supported the economic recovery of the Government of Pakistan by providing policy-based lending that covered comprehensive reforms to improve macroeconomic management in the critical period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This report validates the completion report's assessment of the program. IED overall assessment: Successful.
