[외교/안보] Myanmar-4th issue of the Journal of Geopolitics and International Relations

Myanmar's unique geopolitical position, combined with its internal sociodemographic and political dynamics, has played a pivotal role in shaping its historical and geopolitical developments. Various regional powers have become involved in Myanmar's internal affairs, leading to complex situational dynamics. This research report aims to evaluate key aspects that have contributed to Myanmar's existing geopolitical landscape. These critical points revolve around challenges related to the self-determination of ethnic minorities, political tensions among different ethnic groups and the current political regimes, discord along ethnic and demographic lines, disputes over resource management and authority, the struggle for democracy, external interventions, the geopolitical significance, and evolving situations, as well as conflicts involving external political forces. These elements have defined Myanmar's geopolitical conditions over the past seven decades. The specific areas of importance in this research article include an analysis of the strategic implications of Myanmar's demographic profile, an examination of the origins of internal conflicts in Myanmar, an assessment of the strategic complexities facing India in light of Myanmar's increasing reliance on China, a detailed examination of the effects of ethnic and tribal militant organizations operating from Myanmar on India's North-Eastern regional states, and finally, an evaluation of the importance for India to actively promote stable democratic governance strategies within Myanmar.
