[경제] Green, Low Carbon, and Resilient Prishtina : Final Report 2022

As Kosovo’s capital city and economic center, Prishtina sits at an important crossroads, welcoming new residents and accompanying development while balancing the challenges and demands of rapid urbanization. The Green, Low Carbon and Resilient Prishtina project looks to the future, considering how three different growth patterns whether guided by the city’s status quo, current municipal development and investment plans, or a broader vision for low carbon development and resilience may offer a way toward a more sustainable Prishtina. The assessment is conducted at two levels: first at the level of the city as a whole, defined by the city’s administrative boundaries, and second at the level of a selected neighborhood. This focus enables a demonstration of how the city-wide analysis translates to the neighborhoodlevel and how the proposed strategies could be implemented in one specific part of the city. Prishtina is now at an important crossroad and needs to make decisions to set a path for a more sustainable, greener, and livable development trajectory. The results of the urban growth and performance assessments are intended to feed into ongoing policy discussions in Prishtina and Kosovo, including in the context of the drafting and finalization of the city’s new Municipal Development Plan (MDP). In this sense, the evaluation of the plan and vision scenarios can play an important role to highlight possible course-correction measures for Prishtina. The analysis can also help to highlight Prishtina’s engagement in the global dialogue on climate action and positions the city as a leading example in the Western Balkans and beyond.
