This report was first prepared as a background document for the World Bank–International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings event Climate-Smart Public Investment Management in Africa on October 19, 2021. It summarizes the outcomes of the semi-structured survey of the climate change public investment management (PIM) practice in 12 selected African countries (Angola, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) and shares the cross-country experiences and attendant policy implications with policy makers, technical staff, World Bank staff, and other technical assistance providers working in the areas of strategic planning and capital budgeting.
